A vulnerable post ahead, friends,
You may have noticed that I haven’t been very present over the past few months. If you haven’t heard why, I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been going on.
I’ve been facing some significant challenges with both my physical and mental health. While mental health is something I’ve navigated for quite some time, it has become more intense in this season of life, especially with the added responsibilities of motherhood.
Last year, I went to the Paynesville Emergency Room with severe pain under my ribs. Based on my bloodwork, there was concern that I might be having a heart attack—my troponin levels were elevated. I was immediately transferred by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital and admitted to the cardiac unit. After extensive testing, they were thankfully able to rule out a cardiac event, and I was discharged. However, the pain eventually returned.
When it did, I went directly to St. Cloud Hospital to avoid another ambulance ride. After further evaluation and another hospital stay, it was determined that my gallbladder was likely the cause. I underwent surgery, and thankfully, the pain has not returned since.
We had hoped that my troponin levels would return to normal after surgery, possibly attributing the elevation to pain or stress. Unfortunately, they remain elevated. Since then, I’ve been readmitted to the cardiac unit for additional testing, my doctor has consulted with other specialists, and I have an MRI scheduled later this month. This is not typical for someone my age, and we are continuing to search for answers.
In addition to my own health challenges, our oldest child was diagnosed with autism in December 2025. Since then, life has been a whirlwind of appointments, research, and difficult decisions—trying to determine the best therapies, programs, and support systems for him. It has been emotionally overwhelming at times, and balancing it all has taken a toll on my mental health. I’ve been working through this with therapy and medication adjustments, but it has been a challenging journey.
Because of all of this, I haven’t had the time or energy to devote to baking or extra activities like I normally would. I’m incredibly grateful to Jon for stepping in and helping with the winter market—his support has meant so much to me.
I’m sharing this not only to update you, but also because these medical experiences and procedures have resulted in a significant financial burden. While asking for help doesn’t come easily to me, I’ve decided to host a Mother’s Day special sale at our home.
We’ll have a variety of fresh baked goods, thoughtful gifts for moms, and more. If you’re able to stop by, say hello, or support in any way, it would truly mean so much to our family.
Thank you for your kindness, encouragement, and continued support—it never goes unnoticed.
